New anti-Christian crime. This is not the first time that the Patriarchate expressed “indignation” over acts of vandalism, disgraceful and hideous” that “dishonor Christian sites in Israel and attack the person of Christ, Son of this Holy Land.

“This morning, the Trappist monks of Latroun awoke to discover that the monastery door was burned and walls were sprayed with Hebrew inscriptions such as “ Jesus is a monkey.” These acts of violence are expression of anger against the dismantlement of an illegal Jewish settlement.

The Latin Patriarchate “strongly denounced this violence which creates animosity between communities,” that respect and openness to others are values that are taught and learned for the good of humanity.
