On the larger statue (11 inch), you see Saint Joseph holding baby Jesus with one hand only representing his manly strength, while ever so lovingly holding Jesus’ other hand close to his chest in a tender embrace. These beautiful hand-carved statues of St. Joseph are made of olive wood tree, in a testament to Saint Joseph profession as a carpenter.
